Gary A. Demers

Dr. Gary A. Demers, PhD.Gary Demers was born in San Antonio, TX in 1965. His passion for creative prose is drawn from the many places he has lived, traveled, and worked. He has lived as far north as Alaska, as far south as the Gulf of Mexico, and he has lived in California and Long Island, New York with a few stops in between. His humor is as diverse as the people and cultures he has encountered stateside and abroad. After writing short stories for a variety of  magazines, Gary has written his first novel, Remember the Rain, which is set for release April of 2012.

Gary is the CEO of Mission City Family Wellness Center, a professional mental health counseling and educational center based in San Antonio, TX. Gary holds degrees in Pastoral Counseling -PhD., Psychology, Theology, and Business. He has over 20 years of counseling experience in combined disciplines of Holistic, Cognitive, Dialectical, Behavioral, Marriage, Depression, and Mental Health. He regularly holds community Health & Wellness educational events to promote healthy life management skills in the home and work place. Dr. Demers is co-founder of the IFWI - International Faith & Wellness Institute and is a Research Fellow with the Southwest Institute for the Behavioral Sciences. He continues to help many nonprofit organizations through regular speaking engagements, resource development, and has received many awards and honors for his community based contributions. Gary is also a member of Mensa International.
